This introductory-level workshop introduces the essential ideas of anti-oppression and anti-racism. It is intended for people who are new to these issues and aims to provide a brave and encouraging environment for learning.
This workshop is for organizations and groups that want to increase their understanding of Islam and its followers. Key topics include: hijab in Islam; gendered Islamophobia; alarming surge in Islamophobia; and the many contributions of incredible Canadian Muslims.
This Countering Cyberhate 1O1 workshop aims to empower racialized women and girls to better understand online hate speech and extremism, including counterspeech and counter-narrative.
The workshop seeks to address the realities of Islamophobia and the way in which it operates within Canadian society. The workshop will help participants critically examine the impacts of Islamophobia on the lives of Muslims living in Canada and how it further marginalizes Black and Indigenous Muslims, queer Muslims, and Muslims with disabilities.
